FROM ABSTRACT EXPLORATION TO FIGURATIVE-ABSTRACT
I started my art practice painting abstractly. I was interested in exploring compositions of shape and colour. I was inspired by the European avant-gardes, by artists such as Paul Klee and Sonia Delaunay. See for example Simultanée in this room and The Moon People in the next.
My abstract explorations have influenced my illustrations and figurative paintings. See Roadside Picnic in this room, and my current work on folded paper.
